Tired of sea swimming, beach life and hot summer? Visit Prague!

Sabtu, 28 Januari 2012

The holiday season – the best time for travelling – has already come and I am ready to invite you to one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world. Do you plan to spend this summer in Prague? Would you like to know how to enjoy your stay in the capital of Czech Republic? Or do you sill hesitate what to do in the late summer? I have some useful tips for you all.
Prague is a city of many faces. It has its long and sometimes mysterious history, breathing from each building in the old centre. On the other hand, it is a modern city with a lot of new.

The first thing you come across when browsing through any Prague’s tour guides is surely Prague Castle, Charles Bridge or Old Town Square. These three places are undoubtedly the main points of Prague’s history, connected with many important persons and occasions. They are really worth seeing. Because of their popularity, they are almost anytime too crowded, therefore not so safe. If you are early bird, I do recommend you to come there in the early morning, when you can walk freely without any noise and people and feel and smell the magic of unforgettable city.
For those, who like trips with tour guides, there are some agencies organising various tours through Prague. You can choose the right thematic walk just for you.

My second tip is connected with typical Czech cuisine.  Czech beer is almost world known, but what about Czech meals? Have you ever tried garlic soup, bouillon with vermicelli, roasted sirloin beef in sour cream sauce with dumplings, roast pork with sauerkraut and dumplings or dill sauce? If your answer is “no”, you meet with a part of our culture in any Czech restaurants in Prague. There is a variety of typical Czech restaurants that offer Czech cuisine, Czech beer and Czech folklore as well. In this way you can enjoy your evening with very good meal and also get to know character of local people.

Do you prefer night life to sightseeing? Prague is ready to meet your wishes too. You can make a choice for many music clubs in the whole city where you hear music of all genres – everything from jazz, pop & rock, oldies, ska or reggae to dance music, hip hop, house, metal or punk. Whatever you like. Most of them are situated in the centre – on Wenceslas Square or within a walking distance from there.
Of course, there are a lot of other possibilities how to spend your night – sailing on the Vltava River, night Ghost tour through Prague or visiting theatre or multiplex cinema.

My last tip is mainly for families with children. Small children don’t want to sight-see the whole day that’s why I recommend you a visit of following places.
There is one place that is never failure for small travellers and it is a zoo. Prague’s zoo belongs to the largest in Europe. It has a lot of programmes for visitors such as feeding of animals, their presentation or training. The popularity of Prague’s zoo still rises.
The second possibility is the new aqua park with swimming pools, toboggans, whirlpools or river with back flow. In addition, there is a massage and wellness centre with sauna to your disposal. The new aqua park is very nice place for enjoying the day with the whole family.

Prague is an amazing city with a lot of opportunities what to do and you can never be bored there. See you in Prague!

Tips You Should Know About Airfare

If you have not done any flying lately, when you actually do,

you are going to discover very fast that the prices of airfare

have moved upwards quite a bit. One of the causes for this is

that the price of jet fuel has raised enormously and it appears

like it will carry on doing so for a farseeing time to come.

Encountering a fairly priced airfare at present days it rather

difficult, some of the times even impossible it appears. Still

when you plan ahead for your trip, it doesn't mean that you'll

be able to save some money. You never can tell about these

airfare prices from day to day, even if you are a more

knowledgeable traveler.

When you have discovered that airfare ticket you are requiring

to purchase, take it! Don't delay believing that the costs

might end up going down, chances are, the prices can end up

becoming even higher. A lot of folks make these mistakes and

wind up paying more than they would have had to  they should of

taken the right opportunity when purchasing their airfare. The

best thing to remember when planning on any kinds of travels by

air is that, regardless what safeguards you take up when

purchasing your airfare, some of the times you just have to

live with the reality that fuel costs going up can not be

helped and you simply have to prepare for this the best way

possible. Possibly think of trying to save some money

throughout the year so that airfare expenses won't be so much a

concern for you.

Being flexible during your traveling planning is actually

important in having got the ability to travel without being

overly stressed out. Flexibility will leave you to perhaps find

an airfare ticket at a reasonable price and it could as well

allow you the ability of finding an airfare ticket with

packaged deals that are maybe available when buying your

airfare. If you are overly picky when it concerns when you will

fly, where you will sit, also concerned about the number of

stopovers you might have to deal with, you are merely ensuring

that you are going to experience a miserable time at the

airport with all of the crowds and you will not be capable to

enjoy your flight because of all of the negative energy you

have now put into your traveling plans.

The internet is the main resource that most folks use when

starting to prepare for their traveling experience. On the

internet you will have the ability to discover several

different discounted tickets which will change from day to day.

You will have the convenience of purchasing your airfare

tickets, right from your own home, with no concerns of being

put on hold or being transferred on the phone to people that

can't help in giving you the information that you actually

need. Always make certain that you compare your airfare ticket

prices, so that you don't end up losing out on that much needed

price reduction.

Tips To Finding Cheap Airfare

Jumat, 27 Januari 2012

For anybody who enjoys the advantages of being capable to fly,

then finding a cheaper airfare ticket is actually amazing

feeling isn't it. And so a lot of folks hold up their upcoming

air travel plans because they might not have the acquirable

finances for their pricey airfare, but if you do the right

research and search around you possibly be able to afford the

airfare costs  because there is a possibility you could obtain

it at a much cheaper price.

The internet has several different choices available for you

when you are researching for cheaper airfare, you simply have

to recognise where to find it. Perhaps somebody you know has

obtained cheaper airfare on the internet and they could pass on

the information that you require to assist you in your hunt for

much better airfare prices. Still, they don't make it easy to

find, if that were the case then no one would be paying these

overpriced prices for their airfare tickets, they would all be

enjoying the ability of flying at a cheaper price and enjoying

every minute of it.

Remember that planning for your trip and not being overly picky

are the two most significant matters to keep in mind while

deciding on purchasing your airfare tickets. Also a lot of

folks are more concerned about departure times, returning

dates, available seating, and no stopovers, I suppose that

these folks must enjoy paying exceptionally higher prices when

performing their traveling. Flying more cheaply doesn't imply

that you'll not still have numerous other opportunities of

enjoying certain luxuries, you'll merely have to take the time

out to search in the proper places for these kinds of major

discounts that are available, either on the internet or by

asking a family member or a friend that has experienced with

air traveling.

Whenever you are arranging your planning and you encounter an

airline that is not typically talked about or not familiar,

then your chances of being able to select that flight are

actually high and the price difference will be tremendous, when

comparing it to a few of the upper airlines that are as well

available. Like I said before, if you want a cheaper flight

some of the times being picky can keep you from taking the trip

that you had hoped for. Keep in mind that being flexible when

picking out which airline you can take and at what kind of

schedule you would prefer, can truly help your opportunities in

finding a cheaper airfare for your planned vacation.

There are several rewards of finding airfare at a cheaper

price. First off, you will have additional money to spend on

your fantastic holiday. As well, having the confidence that the

flight is really going to be able to take place, because of not

having to worry about the funds not being available for the

trip that you were anticipating. It's simply an overall much

more satisfying feeling in knowing that you were able to fly to

your destination, and at a very reasonable price.

Tips for Traveling with Infants

Rabu, 25 Januari 2012

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, there is a chance that you might find yourself traveling with an infant, and in this case, there are many things for you to consider.  Traveling with an infant is unlike traveling with a small child, or even a toddler, so whether you are a parent or a babysitter, it is important to be prepared, especially if it is going to be a longer trip.  Though it is easy to get anxious and concerned about this situation, the truth is that many people travel with small infants and if they remember to take the proper precautions, the trip can actually go quite smoothly.

The important thing to remember is that an infant, just like everyone else, has things that need to be packed and day to day needs.  Of course, the first things to remember are the day to day hygiene supplies.  Diapers, diaper rash cream, wipes, and a reusable pad to change your baby on are all basic things that you will find in your normal gear, so remember to pack these.  Look around for travel-sized bottles of baby wash, baby lotion and disinfecting hand gel to make sure that you can keep everything tidy, and don't forget to bring a good change of clothes, especially ones that can easily be washed clean.

As a general rule, remember that blankets in the car are usually a good idea; you can cover yourself when nursing, keep your baby shaded or cushioned as well provide a soft and clean place to sit down if your baby wants to roam a bit.  Remember extra pacifiers, and if your baby is on solid foods, remember baby food and an easy to carry and clean plastic feeding set.  Take a look at everything your normally use to feed and water your baby, from formula to juice to sippy cups to plastic nipples, and bring those along as well.

If you are going to be on the road for more than one night, a few things can make it easier for you as well.  Take some time to find a good nightlight, to make sure that you won't be stumbling blearily around your hotel room at 3 AM, and just in case of bumps and contusions, remember to pack a first aid kit.  If you are going to be going some place where you are going to be walking a great deal, remember that a snuggle sack will help you keep your hands free for other things.  For your own convenience, you may wish to think about purchasing an inflatable tub, a collapsible stroller or a travel playpen to keep your child occupied.

Traveling with an infant can in no way be considered lightweight, but rest assured that if you take the proper precautions, it will not turn into the disaster that you might fear.  When all is said and done, don't forget the digital camera, either; can you imagine how cute he or she is going to look?

Tips for Traveling with Children

Getting ready for a family vacation with a baby?  Many things can make the trip a more enjoyable experience, depending on the age of the child.  Of course, if the baby is still in diapers then having a good supply of diapers and baby wipes is a necessity.  Bottled water for drinking and for rinsing out cups is a plus.  Snacks, the healthy sugar free variety are also a necessity, and pillows and blankets to make the child comfortable during the long ride.

If your baby is old enough to pay attention, then travel games, coloring books, and toys that are quiet enough to avoid driving you crazy can be helpful.  Also a travel DVD player that plugs into the car’s cigarette lighter for power will allow the child to watch a favorite video, keeping him or her occupied and more comfortable.  Read along books for children are handy as well.  These books have recordings the children listen to while looking at the pictures and the words underneath, teaching reading skills at a very young age.  Possibly the most important tip would be making a schedule and setting realistic driving times each day.  Adults can handle longer spans of time in the car than children can, and especially babies. Try not to spend more than eight hours a day driving, and have rest stops every couple of hours to stretch legs, and get outside in the fresh air.

Jill is a mother of two who has fond memories of traveling with her children as babies and toddlers.  She tells many stories of trips to the lake, the park, the beach and even to Disneyland, bringing her small children along and says that the experience wouldn’t have been nearly as enjoyable for her or her husband if the children had stayed home.  She does however, recommend thoughtful planning.  “Story books were great.  I read to the kids while my husband drove, and that kept them occupied.  It also often makes them sleepy and led them to frequent nap times.”  Jill also recommends coloring books so that the kids can amuse themselves.  Ditto for the sugar free snacks.  You won’t want to get the children running in overdrive on a sugar rush.  But children do get hungry frequently, so keeping a good supply of crackers, fruit snacks and other things the kids enjoy will make the trip more enjoyable.

It helps travelers, that so many rest stops these days, have baby changing stations in both men’s and women’s rest rooms.    This allows both parents to handle the child changing chores, and eases traveling tensions.

Jill’s friend and neighbor Sally also remembers traveling with very small children, and offers this advice:  “Baby wipes.  Have lots and lots of baby wipes.  You never know when you’ll need them.  And be sure that you make rest stops every hour or two.  The kids will get a bit cranky and stopping for fifteen minutes can make a world of difference.  Also, be sure to bring animal crackers, graham crackers or some other sort of snack, and bottles of water or fruit juice to wash it down with.  Keeping a child fed with keep a child happy.”

Traveling with a very young child can be a challenge.  If you have friends with older children, ask them what they did to ease the stress of the rip with traveling with the children in earlier years.  It always helps to learn from someone else’s experiences.  Also, ask your own parents what they did when you were a baby, and how they handled traveling situations.  It also doesn’t hurt to check out the local public library for parenting magazines and books.  Being a parent is a very responsible job and learning from others is only wise.  However, traveling with your baby or other young child will provide you with a great deal of enjoyment.  If you take a camera or video camcorder you’ll be able to record the trip for future memories, and have stories to tell for years to come.  So enjoy traveling with your baby, but be sure to plan ahead.

Tips for Staying Safe While Kayaking

Copyright 2006 Rob Daniels

While kayaking is an enjoyable sport, it can also be dangerous. Be sure that you are prepared and practice safe kayaking.

Kayak Plan

First and foremost file a float plan. Many paddlers enjoy solitude when kayaking or canoeing, but its important that paddlers let someone know where they will be paddling and approximately when they will return. Additionally they must adhere to their float plan. In the event that something tragic were to occur a float plan gives rescuers a starting point.

Prepare to Kayak

Kayakers should prepare for a day in the sun or rain. Coastal Regulations dictate that paddlers must have at least the basic safety equipment for a day's paddling. In a kayak under 6 meters in length you should have basic equipment for a day's paddle on a soft adventure. This equipment should includes: a life jacket (PFD), a sprayskirt, a pump or bailer, sponge, paddle, a whistle, a paddle float, a spare paddle, and a buoyant heaving line. Additionally kayakers should include a small first aid kit with a foil survival packet, waterproof matches, a kayak repair kit, toilet paper, extra warm clothes and duct tape. Lightweight Rain gear or paddling jacket is also a good idea. Paddlers are also encouraged to bring paddling gloves to prevent blistering, quick-drying shorts, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Paddlers may also want to bring flares, and a weather or marine radio.

Be sure to bring a cap or hat to provide protection from the sun. Paddlers should have waterproof boots or good sandals. If the temperature are cooler warm close toe shoes are recommended. During the cool part of the year, long underwear and a warm change of clothes are advised.

Kayakers should also bring an appropriate amount of fresh drinking water. Take at least one liter of water for a day's kayaking and a be sure to bring a snack. Using a camel pack will make the water accessible while paddling. It is very easy to get dehydrated, up to three liters of water is recommended for warm days.

Select a personal flotation device designed specifically for paddling and comfort. Make sure the device is comfortable in whatever activities you hope to do, paddling, racing or fishing. While comfort is important it should not be at the expense of adequate floatation.

Utilize hatches and dry bags or boxes for organizing and stowing gear inside the boat. Minimize the amount of deck cargo. Deck cargo interferes with wind, and makes a capsized kayak more difficult to right. Be sure to use dry bags, boxes and packs for above deck storage with kayaks that do not afford internal access.

Learn the Basics

First If you are new to kayaking, take it slow. For your first few outings, go with an experienced and knowledgeable kayaker who can teach you the basics of paddling. The instructor might be a friend, adventure guide or kayaking instructor. One of the more important things to learn is a rescue or wet-entering. Before venturing out on your own you should really be comfortable with the kayak, be aware of your limitations in various conditions.

Inspect Kayak

Before starting a paddling trip be sure to properly inspect all of the equipment. Inspect the spring that holds the paddles together. Check the foot braces or sliders for wear. Inspect the rudder or skeg control, if necessary apply WD-40 as a lubricant. Make sure your seat, foot braces, and rudder assembly are all in good shape prior to paddling. Inspect any components that could break and replace anything that is beginning to wear too much.

Check the kayak seat, some are uncomfortable. In order to increase comfort you can add thin foam to the seat and try adjusting the seat back. Be aware that by raising the seat one-inch with a cushion, the stability of the kayak might be compromised. Make sure neoprene hatch covers are in good shape. Never paddle a boat without watertight hatch covers unless your boat has tapered buoyancy air bags.

Check the Weather

Prior to taking a kayak trip, be sure to check the weather conditions. In addition to the weather be aware of the wind direction and tide tables. If tide and wind are traveling the same direction, water conditions are often somewhat calm. When the wind is traveling against the tidal current, waves will be created and make kayaking more difficult especially for beginners.

Navigation

All kayakers should carry navigational tools. A compass, charts for the area protected in a waterproof bag, tide tables and a handheld GPS unit will make navigation significantly easier.

Transportation

Be sure that you do not drag your boat on the beach. When the kayak is out of the water do not sit on the hatches or decks. Fully loaded kayaks should not be carried by the handles, they should also be supported by a hand under the keel to reduce the stress on the carrying handles.

When transporting the kayak on top of a car, tie the kayak tight across the width, but allow bow and stern tie downs to be slightly loose. Be careful that the kayak does not fill with rain when being transported.

Kayak Storage

Store your kayak resting on fitted padded rests. Your kayak can lose its shape if left sitting on a flat or rugged surface. Preferably the rests should be placed close to the bulkheads. Keep in mind that salt corrodes metal fittings so be sure to rinse the kayak with a hose after ocean use. UV rays destroys plastic and fiberglass so be sure to keep your kayak out of the sun during storage.

Tips for Snorkeling

Copyright 2006 Rob Daniels

Snorkeling is a great way to introduce yourself to the ocean. But like any sport/activity, it is important to be aware of basic safety rules to ensure that your snorkeling experience is enjoyable.

Be Calm

Choose calm conditions to enjoy a safer snorkel. Make sure the water and weather conditions are safe. One day the waves can be a meter high, and the next day the water is still. Calm water will make the snorkeling experience more enjoyable especially for beginners. Typically, a morning snorkel is best, while afternoon snorkeling may have more of a current and sea breeze.

Well Fitting

It is important that the snorkeling equipment properly fits snorkelers. Choose a pair of swim fins that fit your feet comfortably and a snorkel that will fit easily in to your mouth. Fins that are too large will often slip off swimmers feet when they are swimming. Masks that do not properly fit will often allow water in.

Swim

The best thing anyone can do to stay safe around the water is to learn to swim. While non-swimmers can snorkel using a life vest, it is generally a better snorkeling trip when able to swim. While snorkeling, it is important to keep your bearings. Following fish can be a fun pursuit, but be careful not to swim to far from the shore or boat. It is also important to be aware of any current; if you feel yourself drifting to far from other snorkelers or the boat be sure to signal others.

Study the Site

Prior to diving find out the potential problems or conditions that surround a specific dive site. If the particular site is well-known for the waves, currents, shallow spots, difficult entries or exits be sure to wear a life jacket. Being aware of your environment prior to snorkeling will mean that you can focus on snorkeling when you are in the water.

Do Not Touch

Don't put bare hands into crevices or holes. Never touch, handle or feed marine life except under expert guidance and following locally-established guidelines. Where possible, walk on bare surfaces to avoid trampling marine life.

Learn the Basics

Learn how to clear water from the snorkel and learn how to put your mask back on when you tread water. It is important that even beginners know how to clear water at the surface and resume free breathing without removing snorkel their mouth.

Clean Up

Take your garbage home with you, especially things that require special disposal, such as batteries. Be respectful of the environment so that others to can continue to share the beauty and fascination of the underwater world.
